Instagrammer Komi Minori

Minori is an Instagrammer and photographer who shares her beloved Ishigaki Island. She loves the island's nature and lives a sustainable lifestyle. Here are her top recommended spots.

For an early lunch, head to Barracks, a Vietnamese sandwich and banh mi cafe. The store also has a corner where the island's organic vegetables are sold by weight. "The banh mi are delicious, and it's a stylish and eco-friendly store that I love." Takeout is also available.

Located along Nagura Bay, Churatto is a smoothie shop that uses fruits from the island. Minori's favorite is the dragon fruit and banana smoothie. "It depends on how often I pass by." There are also many miscellaneous goods and souvenirs on display, including Minori's original accessories.

This street is located on a hill on the southern side of the Sakieda Peninsula. "It's just a road, but I love the view of the grasslands and ocean from here." From the circular road along Nagura Bay, turn left in front of Peace Lee Inn Sakieda, just before the Sakieda settlement, and drive for about 5 minutes.

She visited a beach in the north of the island with a friend. "I like the fact that it's surrounded by nature in the north and there aren't many people. It's a very relaxing place."

Yachimun is the Okinawan word for pottery. Minori loves pottery and recently bought a plate here. She also loves the large banyan tree and the beautifully maintained garden with its many plants.
