Designer Yasutake Ikeshiro

Yasutake Ikeshiro, the representative of Ichigusuku Mode, creates clothing inspired by the island's nature and culture. The OORITOORI website logo was also designed by Ikeshiro, and his work on posters and signs can be seen all over the island, demonstrating his wide-ranging activities.

Torin-ji Temple and Gongendo Temple, the oldest temple in the Yaeyama Islands, are located very close to his house, and as a child he would come here to catch cicadas and play. As a child he thought the stone walls and Nio statues were cool. "Looking south from the worship hall of Gongendo Temple, I also like the straight road that stretches out beyond. Before the land was reclaimed, the sea was just beyond this road, and I always imagine what the view must have been like."

This brave Nio statue is the oldest wooden carving still in existence in the prefecture.

This stone monument was erected to commemorate the change in road direction from right to left on July 30, 1978, after Okinawa was returned to Japan. "The logo is cool, and since I was a child I've thought of this place as the heart of the island. I'm happy to be able to open a shop here." To the east of the monument is the Ichigusuku Mode 730 intersection store.

There are many trails in the park that lead into the forest.
