Ishimine Ransa, creator of natural shell ginger cosmetics
Ishimine Ransa is the creator of the skincare and fragrance brand "SUNNYTIME," which offers products such as mists and oils made with shell ginger from the island, and also runs the cafe and bulk shop "Atsuu to Ikou." As someone who loves the forest, we spoke to Ransa about her favorite places to relax and her favorite places nearby.
These ruins are tucked away to the north of Ohama village. They are the remains of a settlement from about 600 years ago, and still retain impressive stone walls and ancient graves. "When you go through the wooden tunnel, the ruins suddenly open up and you find yourself in a different space, which I like." There are entrances on both the north and south sides of the ruins.

This curry and spice shop is located in the forest near Kawahara village. The shop used to be located in the city, and the owner has been a frequent visitor since then. "The curry is excellent, but the island cola, made with home-grown spices and herbs, is also delicious."

The Firefly Highway in Banna Park is a spot in the forest where you can watch fireflies in early summer. He sometimes brings his two sons there, and it's one of his favorite places, saying, "I like the jungle-like atmosphere. It's close to town, so I can come here for a quick change of pace."

"Gathering and Relaxing" is located inside Momozono Botanical Garden. This place is right next to the shop, and the owner says he sometimes pops in to see what flowers are in bloom at the time. He says he likes the feeling of being surrounded by greenery rather than areas with lots of colorful flowers. "On nice days, the sunlight filtering through the trees is really beautiful."

Euglena Mall, which is full of souvenir shops, is on two streets, one of which is Ginza Street. The SUNNYTIME workshop is also located on this street, and "it's a place where you can relax and enjoy the warm relationships with the neighbors."
Originally from Tokyo, she has lived in Ishigaki Island since 2008. After working at a child support center and a relaxation salon, she started "SUNNYTIME" in 2012 and "Tsūto Ikou" in 2021. She is a mother of two children.
