Instagrammer Minori Komi

Minori, who loves Ishigaki Island, is an Instagrammer and photographer who shares her favorite places there. She loves the island's nature and lives a sustainable lifestyle, and here are some of her top recommended spots.

For an early lunch, we went to Barrack, a Vietnamese sandwich and banh mi cafe. Inside, there's a corner where you can buy organic island vegetables by weight. "The banh mi is really delicious, and it's a stylish and eco-friendly place that I love." Takeout is also available.

Located along Nagura Bay is Chura-tto, a smoothie shop that uses local island fruits. Minori's favorite is the dragon fruit and banana smoothie. "I stop by every time I pass by." The shop also has a wide variety of goods and souvenirs, including Minori's original accessories.

Approximately 10 minutes by car

A street on a hill on the southern side of the Sakieda Peninsula. "It's just a road, but I love the view of the grasslands and the sea from here." It's about a 5-minute drive after turning left off the main road along Nagura Bay, just before the Sakieda settlement, in front of Peace Three Inn Sakieda.

She said she visits a beach in the northern part of the island with a friend. "I like that it's a beach surrounded by the great nature of the north, and there aren't many people there. You can really relax there."

Yachimun is the Okinawan word for pottery. Minori loves pottery and recently bought a plate here. She also loves the garden, which is beautifully maintained with a large banyan tree and many other plants.
