Airport ground staff member, Miki Shinjo

Miki Shinjo has worked for JAL Sky Airport Okinawa for many years as a ground staff member at Ishigaki Airport. At the gateway to the Yaeyama Islands, she handles counter duties and provides guidance at the boarding gates. Miki has been learning Yaeyama dance since she was a child, and has also been active in the local performing arts club and youth association, carrying on local events and the island's traditional culture.

Near the airport is a straight road that descends to the sea, commonly known as Pigoro Hill. It's part of his commute, and he says, "On sunny days, the boundary between the sky and the sea disappears, and the deep blue view is truly beautiful." When he's on the early shift, he can see the sunrise from across the sea, which apparently makes him feel refreshed.
